Automating Passport & Visa Page skips for Domestic Travel
Automating Passport & Visa Page skips for Domestic Travel
Scenario
Zylker Corp, a global technology company with offices across the globe regularly sends its employees on both domestic and international business trips.
Managing these travel requests was becoming inefficient due to:
Manual errors in collecting travel documents
Delays in getting necessary approvals due to missing passport/visa data
Repeated back-and-forth emails
To streamline the travel request process and ensure proper documentation, Zylker needs a Travel Request Form that needs to tailor its flow based on the type of travel (Domestic/International).
When an employee selects “Domestic” as the travel type, the form intelligently skips passport and visa-related pages, since these aren’t needed for domestic travel. If “International” is selected, the form proceeds to request passport and visa information, ensuring all required data is gathered for foreign travel bookings.
Watch a quick step-by-step tutorial on configuring pare rules for this scenario.
Building the form
Firstly, a Travel Request Form is created which is divided into 5 progressive pages to ensure clarity, simplicity, and relevance of information using the Page Break field.
Page 1: Employee Details To collect basic information about the employee initiating the travel request. This information will be used for identification, internal routing, and communication.
Page 2: Travel Type
To determine if the trip is Domestic or International.
Page 3: Passport Details
To collect passport-related data for international travel bookings.
Page 4: Visa Details
To gather visa-related data for countries where visas are required.
Page 5: Accommodation & Preferences
To help the travel desk make lodging arrangements and note any special requests.
Configuring Page Rules
The logic we need to configure is based on the Travel Type on Page 2.
If "Domestic" is selected → Skip to Page 5 (Accommodation & Preferences)
If "International" is selected → Proceed to Pages 3 & 4
To configure Page Rules for this form,
In your form builder, navigate to the Rules tab > Page Rules.
Click Configure Now.
Select Page 2 , Travel Type to configure rules.
Click + Rule to start configuring conditions and actions to be triggered in this page.
If the employee selects Domestic as the Travel Type, then skip Pages 3 and 4 (Passport & Visa) and go directly to Page 5 (Accomodation).
This ensures that if the Travel Type is International, the form goes to Passport Details (Page 3), continuing the natural flow for international travel.
Click Add to view the rule summary.
