What is the difference between a Contact and a Company?
A Contact is an individual under a company (organisation), such as a manager, on-site coordinator, or owner, whereas a Company represents the organisation.
- A contact can either belong to a Company or exist as a standalone record.
- A Company represents a business entity or organisation. It serves as a record to which multiple Contacts can be linked. This means that several individuals (e.g., manager, supervisor) can be associated with the same business.
Example: A large luxury resort avails Pool Maintenance, Landscaping, and HVAC services in your field service organisation.
- Company: Sea breeze Grand Resort
- Contacts:
- Lena Morgan – Chief Facilities Officer
- John Carter – Supervisor
- Emily Ross – Procurement Executive
