The push notifications can be viewed on your web application or mobile by clicking the bell (notification) icon.

1. Access the Developer Application.
   
2. Select the Automate tab, then select Actions in the left pane.
   
3. Ensure the Push Notification tab is selected at the top of the list view. The available configurations are displayed.
   
4. Click New Push Notification to display the push notification configuration form.
   
5. Select the category. This is the feature from which the push notification will be triggered.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
6. Select any module such as devices, assets, locations, or models.
7.  Provide a name for the notification.
   
   
   
   
8. Configure the recipients for the notifications. Only the selected user will be able to view the notification in the web browser application or mobile app.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
9. Provide the message to be sent in the notification.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   Note: Use the # key inside the subject or message boxes to insert managed entity property values.
   
   
   
10. Set the Status toggle to ON to enable triggering notifications.
    
    
    
    
11. Choose the Custom Action to be performed along with the notification.
    
    

    Visit Webpage: Configure the button and the web link to be displayed on clicking on the button.
    
    
    
    

    Call to Phone: Configure to trigger a phone call to the configured number.
    
    
    
    
    
12. Click Save.
    
    
    Now you can add this push notification to any of the automated actions, such as Notification Profile or Workflow Rule, to trigger the notification when the notification profile or workflow rule is executed.

Example: Triggering a Push Notification Action when executing Alarm Rule 

1. The temperature sensor in the server room sends data to the IoT platform.
   
2. The Alarm Rule continuously monitors the sensor's data.

3. When the temperature exceeds 30°C, the Alarm Rule is executed.
   
4. As part of the execution, the Push Notification Action is triggered.
   
5. The facility manager receives the following notification on their mobile app or web app.
   
   
   
   
6. Notification Message: "Alert: Server room temperature has exceeded 30°C. Immediate action is required."
   
7. Depending on the configuration, the notification can also call a phone / visit a webpage.

8. This ensures timely communication, allowing the manager to take necessary action to prevent overheating and potential damage to equipment.
   
   

Displaying System Notification 

In Zoho IoT, system notifications can be displayed along with push notifications by default in the top right corner of the desktop. A system notification is displayed at the operating system level, outside the Zoho IoT application, and appears as a native OS notification.

To view system-level notifications, the system notification option must be enabled in system's Notification Settings for the browser in which the application is running.
