Troubleshooting / Possible errors
If you encounter an error while verifying your domain after adding the CNAME or TXT record, consider the following issues:
- CNAME Verification Failure
If using the CNAME method, enter <zpeople>.<yourdomain.com/eu/cn/in> in your browser’s URL bar.
If the page does not redirect to the Zoho login page, check your CNAME values for accuracy.
- DNS Provider – Registrar Conflict
If your domain registrar differs from your DNS hosting provider, records added at the registrar may not be valid.
Perform a NameServer Lookup to determine where your DNS is hosted.
If uncertain, consult your domain registrar or technical contact to confirm name server settings.
- Long TTL (Time To Live)
DNS changes can take 12–24 hours to propagate, depending on the TTL value.
If TTL is set to a high value (e.g., 24–48 hours), verification may fail temporarily.
Check TTL settings and retry verification after some time.
- Incorrect Record Format
Some DNS providers require the full domain name (e.g., zpeople.yourdomain.com), while others only need the hostname (zpeople).
Refer to your DNS provider’s help documentation or support team to ensure proper formatting.
- Typos or Spelling Mistakes
Double-check the domain name entered in Zoho to ensure there are no errors.
