What is Google Business Profile
Google Business Profile is a free tool from Google that lets you create an online profile for your business. This profile helps your business appear in Google Search and Google Maps when people look for products or services you offer.
For example, imagine you run a travel agency called Zylker Travels. When someone searches for “travel agencies” on Google, if you have a Google Business Profile, your business can appear in those results, making it easier for potential customers to discover you. Your business profile may show up with details like your name, location, contact number, website, photos, and reviews. This gives you a chance to attract customers who may not have heard of your business before.

Google Business Profile in Zoho Social
You can create a GBP directly from Zoho Social. If you already have a GBP account, you can simply connect it to Zoho Social.
How to create a Google Business Profile in Zoho Social
To create a GBP from Zoho Social:
- Go to Settings -> Brand Settings -> Social Channels
- Select Create a new Google Business Profile next to the GBP icon. This will redirect you to the Google sign-in page. Learn how to create a Google account
- Choose the Google account you want to use for your business profile, or create a new Google account if needed.
- Click Continue.
Alternatively, if you're a new user, the option to create a GBP will appear while you're setting up your brand and adding social channels.
Adding your business details
Once you’ve selected your preferred Google account, enter your business information to complete your Google Business Profile setup.
Start by adding your basic business details:
- Enter the name of your business.
- Select your business location from the dropdown.
- Choose the category that best describes your business from the dropdown.
- Select or create a business group to help organize and manage multiple profiles.
Next, add your address and contact information:
- Enter your business address and pin the location on the map.
- Provide your city and PIN code.
- Select your state from the dropdown.
- Enter your contact number.
- Add your website URL (This is an option field).
These details help customers find you easily and reach out to you quickly.
Other optional details
- Select the days your business operates.
- Set the opening and closing hours for each day.
Once you’ve completed these steps, your Google Business Profile will be created and connected to Zoho Social. However, you must verify your profile before you can start using it.
Note:
- You won’t be able to post from your Google Business Profile until the verification process is complete.
Verification
To start using your Google Business Profile, you must verify your account.
- Choose your verification method, either call or SMS.
- Click Get OTP.
- Enter the OTP you received via call or text message, based on the option you selected.
- Click Verify.
Once the verification is complete, click OK to finish the process. Additionally, you can click Add more details to upload storefront photos for your profile. This helps your profile look more authentic and attractive to customers on Google.
Editing your profile details
You can update your Google Business Profile information at any time.
- Go to Settings under the Social Channels section.
- Click Edit next to the GBP icon.
- Make the required changes to your profile details.
- Click Update to save your changes.
Publishing your GBP
To publish a post to your Google Business Profile from Zoho Social:
- Click New Post in the top-right corner of your Zoho Social dashboard.
- Select the channels you want to publish to. Choose Google Business Profile alone or along with other social networks.
- Click to
attach images. You can upload media from your desktop, Media Library, Cloud Pickers, or design visuals directly in Canva and attach them instantly. - Write a suitable caption for your post. You can use Compose with Zia to generate a caption by entering a simple prompt.
- Add a CTA button, event, or offer to your Google Business Profile post. Learn more about CTA button, event, and offer
- Click the Hashtag Groups icon to insert relevant hashtags.
- Use the Add Emojis icon to include emojis in your caption.
- Choose how you want to publish:
- Click Post Now to publish immediately, or
- Use scheduling options like Schedule for a Specific Date, Add to Queue, or Choose a SmartQ slot.

Limitations
- You can publish only one image per post on Google Business Profile.
