Migration Limitations

1. Migration is only supported for plans listed above.
   
   
2. Migrating your data to WorkDrive is not possible if there are more than 10,00,000 (1 million) folders, including subfolders, per user in your OneDrive account.
   
   
3. Migration of share permissions (both internal & external) on files and folders is not supported yet. Files and folders under Shared with you will not be migrated.
   
   
4. Shared Library (SharePoint Library) will not be migrated.
   
   
5. OneNote files will not be migrated.
   
   
6. Links will be migrated, but they will not work in WorkDrive, as this feature is yet to be supported. After migration, you can download the links to your computer to open them.
   
   
7. Individual files exceeding 25 GB cannot be migrated.
   
   
8. Items in Recycle bin will not be migrated.
   
   
9. File versions will not be migrated. Only the latest version of a file will be migrated. 
   
   
10. Last modified user details on files and folders cannot be migrated. We will instead show the created user as the last modified user in WorkDrive.
    
    
11. Currently, our migration tool does not support the automatic conversion of Microsoft file formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to Zoho native formats (Writer, Sheet, Show). To convert these files, you will need to manually switch them to the Zoho format after migration.
    
    
12. Migration per user per service can only be done once.
    
1. Any data added to OneDrive post migration cannot be migrated again to Zoho WorkDrive.
   
2. Duplicate entries will not be allowed for migration in both OneDrive and Zoho WorkDrive. In other words, neither data from multiple OneDrive accounts can be migrated to a single WorkDrive account, nor data from a single OneDrive account can be migrated to multiple WorkDrive accounts.
   

Notes

Microsoft Global Administrators can get access to other users' files (including suspended or deleted users based on data retention period), and they can copy or move the required files to their own OneDrive account. Any data should be moved or copied before you start the migration.

i) Set Up Your Azure Subscription

To proceed with the migration, you need access to Azure Cloud Shell. This requires a one-time Azure subscription setup.

Even if you have the Global Administrator role, an Azure subscription may still be required to use Cloud Shell.

Note: A free subscription is sufficient with No storage required (Recommended) option for Azure Cloud Shell and won't incur costs.

1. Go to portal.azure.com.
   
   
2. Click the Cloud Shell icon in the top menu bar.
   
3. Select PowerShell when prompted.
   
   
   
   
4. If no active subscription is found, you’ll be prompted to create one.
   
   
   
   
5. Click Create an Azure subscription.
   
6. Select Try Azure for Free.
7. Complete the sign-up process by:
   
1. Accepting the terms and conditions
   
2. Verifying your profile and payment details
   Note: You won’t be charged during this process.

Once done, click Sign up and authenticate your account. Your Azure account is now ready.

ii) Create your own Cloud app

1. Once completed:
   
   Return to portal.azure.com.
   
2. Click the Cloud Shell icon again.
   
3. Select PowerShell.
   
   
   When prompted for setup:
   
1. Select No storage required (Recommended) - Enables quick access without creating additional resources
   
   Note: Select Mount storage account, when persistent file storage is needed across sessions
   
2. Choose the subscription name from the dropdown list.
   
3. Leave Use an existing private network unchecked - This is required only for advanced configurations.
   
4. Click Apply to launch the PowerShell terminal.
   
   
4. 
   Copy and paste the following command, then press Enter:
   
   wget -cO - https://zoho.to/msdrive_to_workdrive > "ms_app_creator.sh";sh ms_app_creator.sh
   
   
5. If prompted, enter the admin email address.
   
6. The script will:
   
1. Register your app in the Azure directory
2. Generate a security certificate (.crt file)
7. Note down the generated .crt file name.
8. In the Cloud Shell terminal, click Manage files → Download.
9. Enter the .crt file name and download it to your computer.

Note: Keep the Cloud Shell terminal open.

iii) Upload the certificate to Azure

1. Go to portal.azure.com in a new tab.
2. Go to App registrations under Azure services. You can also use the search bar to quickly find it.
3. Select the Owned applications tab.
4. Click the newly created migration app.
5. In the left pane, go to Manage → Certificates & secrets.
6. Upload the downloaded .crt file and click Add. The app registration is now validated.
   
   

iv) Access the Admin Consent URL and grant access permissions

1. Return to the Cloud Shell terminal.
   
   
   
   
2. Open the Admin consent URL and grant the requested permissions.

v) Download the .p12 file

1. Back in the terminal, note the generated .p12 file name.
   
   
   
   
2. Click Manage files → Download.
3. Enter the .p12 file name and download it.

1. Log in to your WorkDrive account as an Admin or the Super Admin.
   
2. Click Admin Console in the bottom-left corner of your WorkDrive account.
3. Click the Migration tab in the left panel to open the migration screen.
4. Click GET STARTED at the bottom-right corner. A new screen will open.
5. Under Migration Details, select OneDrive as the source provider, then provide a name for the migration.
6. Import the downloaded .p12 file. This is also known as the service account key, which is used to authenticate with Microsoft APIs.
7. Once done, click Continue and map users in WorkDrive.
