How to Lock Specific Sections in Zoho Writer for Protected Collaboration?

Overview

Zoho Writer allows you to lock specific sections of a document so collaborators can only edit the areas you permit. This helps protect important content while still enabling teamwork on other parts of the document. Owners can unlock sections at any time to allow further edits, ensuring both security and flexibility during collaboration.

Steps to Lock Sections

Select the required text.
Go to More options > Tools tab. Under Editing header, choose to lock/unlock content in collaboration. Alternatively, click the Review button to switch to Review mode and click the Lock document icon under Collaboration.
A drop-down list will appear. Click Lock Selected content or Lock Unselected Content, which will lock either the selected text or everything but the selected text.

If you want to allow any specific user to edit the locked content, click Advanced options in the drop-down menu, add the user in the AllowEditing For field and click Lock.
