How to insert dates that automatically update to the current date

Overview

Zoho Writer allows you to insert dynamic date fields that automatically update to the current date whenever the document is opened or printed. This is useful for creating templates, reports, letters, and documents that always reflect the most recent date without manual updates.

Steps

Insert AutoField Date

Click More > Fields tab > Autofields > Dynamic Today's Date

Update Format of Inserted Date

Click on the inserted date in the document > Configure Date. Custom Date Field Dialog popup appears

In the Custom Date Autofield dialog, you can modify the locale and date format as needed. Additionally, you may assign a field name to the date, allowing you to reuse it throughout the document. Any changes made to this date field will automatically reflect in all other instances where the same field is used.

Troubleshooting

Problem : I need date in portuguese format like this,1 de maio de 2019, but on insert date it shows like 2019-05-01T15:21:57-03:00

Cause : Date format locale is in English, it needs to be changed to Portuguese.

Solution : Change the locale by clicking on the Inserted Date as shown and set the appropriate locale and format
