Prerequisites for Merge&Sign and Sign APIs in Writer

For the Merge and Sign or Sign APIs to work, initially, you need to access the Merge and Sign dialog (or Sign dialog) from Writer UI once before sending the API request.

Please follow the below steps to know how to access the Merge and Sign or Sign dialog from Writer UI:

1. Go to  Writer Dashboard > Create New > Merge Template > Create from Scratch. Other integration users (say Zoho CRM, Zoho People, Zoho Recruit, Orchestly and Zoho Form) can directly open the templates. 



2. Type some content in the editor and click on 'Automate' from the left panel > Under 'Choose Output' > Select 'Merge and Send for sign collection'.

3. Merge and Send dialog box will open. Configure the Signer details and save it.




4. You don't have to Run Merge or initiate the Sign collection. Once the signer details are configured and saved in the Writer UI, you can go ahead and access our Merge&Sign or Sign APIs. 

It is enough if you access the Merge and Sign or Sign dialog in Writer UI only once (ie) for the first time alone. It's NOT necessary that this needs to be done every time before sending an API request.
