Audit logging is the process of recording and documenting user activity that happens within a software application used within your organization. The audit logs are also called as audit trails or audit history as they contain details about the action/event that took place, the timestamp, the user who performed an action/event, the device and network details, the changes made, etc.
Audit logging in Zoho Apptics
In Zoho Apptics, the audit logs record user activity within the console, which can be later used as an evidence (legal reference) for compliance audits and security purposes. It helps you keep track of any important changes or configurations made concerning your app from the Apptics console and maintain accountability within teams.
Hence, every time a project member visits a module, performs an action, accesses a PII/email address, or views attachments sent by users within the Apptics console, it gets recorded as an Audit log.
The main purpose of maintaining Audit logs at the project-level is to keep a record of all the important actions performed by project members. Hence, the audit log entries will start getting recorded as soon as a new project is created within the Apptics portal.
