Global timer

Zoho Sprints offers a global timer that serves as a single platform to view all timer related data. You can set timers for your work items to track the time spent on them. The global timer consolidates all the timers in one place for you to assess the data, start and stop timers, and monitor items with active timers.

Set timer for items

You can start timers for work items right from the global timer window. To start timer:
  1. Login to your Zoho Sprints workspace.
  2. Click the global timer icon in the right side menu bar. The global timer listing window will appear.

  3. Search for the item using the item name or item ID. The matching items will appear.
  4. Hover on the required item.
  5. Click the Start button in the item. The timer will commence for that item.
  1. You can pause and stop the timers based on the progress of your work.
  2. You will not be able to stop a timer that you just started. The timer needs to run at least for one minute.
  3. You can set timer for the work items in your backlog and upcoming sprints.
  4. You can set a timer only for the work items in the active sprint.
  5. You can set timer only for the work items assigned to you.

Start timer from other places

You can start a timer from the following places:
  1. The backlog items have the timer icon which you can click to start timer.
  2. The items on the board have the timer icon in the items assigned to you which you can click to start timer. If there are active timers in your project you will receive an alert message. If you would like to add the timer you can add it to your existing timers.
  3. The item details page has the Start Timer button at the top. Click the button to start the timer. The item details page also has a tab to track timer related data.

Timer views

There are three views in the global timer listing window: Active, Paused, and Today's Work
  1. Active Timers: You can view and track all the items with active timers in your workspace. The user dropdown allows you to view timers based on the selected user. You can stop or pause the timers that you started (Hover and click the stop or pause icon). You can also search and find items and start new timers.
  2. Paused Timers: You can view and track all the items with paused timer in your workspace. You can stop or resume timers that you set (Hover and click the stop or resume icon). You can also search and find items and start new timers.
  3. Today's Work: You can view and track all the items for which the timer is stopped. The item could either be completed or the timer could just be stopped.
When you sign out, you'll receive a reminder about all the active timers. You can either Stop all timers and sign out, or pause all timers and sign out, or just sign out.
