Execute test cases from test run
Once all the test cases or the test suite is added to the test run, testers or quality analysts can access the test cases, check the steps to be carried out, test the feature or product as per the steps and find out whether the expected results of the test cases match. Test results can be added to the test case execution's details page.
To access the test case execution page,
- Go to Test Management in the required project.
- Select Test Runs. List of all test cases under this test run will be displayed.
- Click on a test case to open its execution page.
- View the test case details such as Preconditions, Steps, and its Expected results.
- Update the status of the test case execution from within the Details tab. Click the Edit Result button and select a status.
- Add comments to the test case execution from the Comments tab.
- Add or associate items to the test case from within the Items tab, in case the test case fails the expected result or needs to fulfil a requirement, or so on.
- View the activities carried out for the test case within the Activity Stream tab.
View consolidated list of items created for the Test Run
- Go to Test Management in the required project.
- Select Test Runs.
- Hover over the specific test run and click View Details.
Test run details page will open. - Navigate to the Item sections.
List of all the work items associated with the test run will show up.

Expand details view
To view the Test Case execution page in expanded view,
- Navigate to the Test Run module in Test Management.
- Select a test run.
- Click on a test case associated to the test run.
- Click <expand icon>.
Associate work item to test case
- Navigate to the Test Run module in Test Management.
- Select a test run.
List of all the test cases associated to the test run will show up. - Select a test case.
The test case execution page will appear. - In View By header, select Items.
- Click the Add or Associate button to associate items to the test case.
- In Add Work Item form, fill the required fields and click Create.
- In the Associate Items page, list of all the items will show up. Select the required item from the list. Click Associate.
View associated test cases from within Item details page
When test cases are associated with work items, you can view those test cases from within the item details page.
To view the test cases from item details page:
- Navigate to an item that is associated with a test case.
- Click the Test Cases related section.
- List of all the associated test cases and its execution details will be shown under the Cases Summary and Execution Summary tab.
The Design tab lists all the test cases associated with the work item while the Execution tab lists all the test cases with its execution details. Click on the respective test case to view its details page.
Dissociate Test Case from the Test Run
- Navigate to the Test Run module in Test Management.
- Select a test run.
- Click the checkbox beside each test case to select them.
- Click the Dissociate button.
- Confirm your action and then click Dissociate.
