Hello Everyone,
We begin the year with a set of new updates from Zoho Inventory. Check out what our team has put forth for the month of February.
Bahrain Edition
With Bahrain having introduced VAT
since the 1st of January 2019, Zoho Inventory has now rolled out the VAT ready Bahrain edition. So now you have three VAT compliant GCC editions in Zoho Inventory: UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. You can access the help document for the Bahrain edition here.
Item Categories
We have introduced item categories in Zoho Inventory. You can now classify your items by categories and sub-categories. This helps to keep your inventory organized. Categories can be assigned to items, item groups and composite items. Learn More.

Barcode Scanning in Package/Receive Creation
What if you have 100 items in your sales order, but want to ship only 5 of them? Typically, you will have to remove the 95 unwanted items to create a package for just the 5 items. Now you can be free from this painstaking procedure, as we've brought about a simpler solution.
When creating a package or a purchase receive, you now have the option to add the items manually or by barcode scanning. This saves a lot of time as you get to select only the items that need to be further processed for the transaction. Learn More.
Quick Shipment
With the quick shipment option, you can now select the sales orders and create a manual shipment in just a couple of clicks, skipping the hassle of creating a package and then a shipment. You can also choose to mark them as delivered when creating a quick shipment.
Instant Invoicing
Just as you can instantly create a manual shipment, we have provided the Instant Invoice option to create an invoice directly from a sales order. You no longer have to go through the invoice edit page. This helps you to quickly convert your sales order to an invoice. Learn More.
View Details When Selecting an Item
Whether you're creating a sales order or a purchase order, you might want to know the item details before adding them to the transaction. For example, knowing the current stock of an item can help you raise a purchase order accordingly. Now you can view the items' rate and accounting from the dropdown, before you select them for a transaction.
Prevent Stock from Going Below Zero
When dealing with multiple transactions, it is often easy to lose track of when your stock level falls below zero. This might cause you to create invoices for an item with zero stock. Zoho Inventory now lets you forbid any activity that results in the accounting stock to fall below zero. Learn More.
Item Image Limit Increased to 15
Item image plays an important part in letting the customers know what they're buying. And thus, we have now increased the item image limit . You can now upload a maximum of 15 images for an item.
More Fields in Item Advanced Search
Along with the existing criteria, we've added a couple more with which you can filter the items. You can now perform advanced search for items by specifying the items brand or manufacturer. This can help you to view all the items of a particular brand/manufacturer and raise transactions for it accordingly.
Android Updates
With the latest Android update, you can now create contacts from your mobile. You can also create new contacts and items, as and when you create a sales order.
