A look back at Zoho Payroll's journey through 2020

2020 was the year we woke up to many surprises. While most of them were not very pleasant, we've managed to get through them and now, we bid the year adieu. Back in March, we at Zoho, started working from home. At first, we found it hard to adjust to the new work environment and missed our office dearly. But now, we've settled  into our new routines. The payroll landscape also changed according to the times. This year saw the highest number yet of digital adaptations for payroll, and the EPFO processed its highest number of PF funds digitally. The Government brought in new payroll provisions to facilitate liquidity during the financial crisis. And we ran along with it, striving to keep Zoho Payroll up-to-date with the dynamic rules and provisions.



To help small business cope with the economic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we at Zoho launched the Small Business Emergency Subscription Assistance Program (ESAP). With this program, businesses having less than 25 employees could avail Zoho services for free for 3 months. 45 of Zoho Payroll's customers benefited from this program. In addition, we introduced Zoho Remotely, a suite of tools that help teams collaborate and work from home.

Each month, we roll out another set of features and enhancements to help solve some more of the payroll challenges you've been facing. You can find the list of updates in the What's New page and catch a detailed version of it on our Forums.

As 2020 comes to an end, we look ahead with hope for a safer, healthier, and more prosperous 2021.
