OK, I'm fairly new to Zoho, so this list might be a little short, but I'm sure others can throw in their ideas, too.
1. Sharable Folders
I know this is in the works, and that the ETA is 2-3 months, but I wanted it here because it is the biggest. In my opinion, the best, most helpful and functional way of implementing this is to have not only personal folders that I can share to a particular group (sharing everything in that folder either with the selected permissions or individually selected permissions), but also to have folders that I can CREATE in a group. That way, the folder can be just for organization within the group (say, for collecting articles for a monthly newsletter, or for submissions from writers for a monthly roundtable). These are examples of times when there is a reason for group-level organization that doesn't make sense as individual organization. It doesn't make sense for a writer to save his own work in a personal folder called "March Meeting," but it makes perfect sense to share it to a Group folder named that.
2. Everywhere I can share a document, I want to be able to unshare it
This is another obstacle to migrating to Zoho. From Zoho Docs, I can easily share a document with a group or another user. But when I use the same interface to unshare the document, not only can I NOT unshare it there, it doesn't even report to me where the document is shared. The checkbox should prefill as checked for any group or user that already has the document shared to them, and I should be able to deselect that checkbox to unshare the document.
The current method (opening the document in Zoho Writer, clicking on the Share Tab, then Share, then the Share Details tab before I can even see the list of users/groups that I can remove from sharing) is cumbersome and non-intuitive.
I know there might be other places where I can share a document (or other widgets), but like I said, I'm fairly new.
3. Unified migration through the Apps
There are at least three ways to get the list of Zoho Apps on the screen, and they all look different. If they looked the same, the learning curve would flatten tremendously.
Methods to Display Zoho App Listings (there may be more):
a. Go to zoho.com after you are signed in. (Result: large text, large DIV elements separating/organizing each link)
b. Go to your personal page (Result: small text, in column format, very concise)
c. In Zoho Docs, click on the link at the top of the page for 'Zoho Apps'. (Result: a float-over element that appears something like option a)
4. A central repository for this wishlist
I would love to have a place to view the current things people are wishing/asking for. It would also give the Zoho developers a bit of a break from having to answer the same question a number of times. If someone wants Group Folders (a popular request here), they could visit the "Zoho Wishlist" and see that someone had already asked for that, that the developers had received the request and assigned someone to it, when the request was made and when the developers expect to have it implemented.
Maybe there could be a place for comments about any particular wish-entry... like for folders, I could post in my suggestion for implementation, and the developers could provide updates if necessary (like if it was runinng behind schedule).
There might be something like this already on the site, but I didn't see it.
All in all, a very decent set of tools that need just a few corners smoothed out. Right now, I am dealing with potentially non-web-savvy members to my group, and I need to make sure that the system we go with is as intuitive as possible.
Thanks!
