Add Custom Task Fields in Cadence Task Creation (Without Setting Them as Mandatory)

Add Custom Task Fields in Cadence Task Creation (Without Setting Them as Mandatory)

Dear Zoho Team,

I hope you are well.

We would like to request an enhancement to the task creation process within Zoho CRM Cadences. Currently, when creating a task as part of a cadence, only the default task fields and those set as mandatory in the task layout are available. However, setting fields as mandatory impacts all manually created tasks, which limits flexibility.

Feature Request:
We request two possible solutions to address this issue:

  1. Option to Customize Fields for Cadence Tasks:

    • Allow the inclusion of additional, relevant task fields (both default and custom) in the Cadence task creation process, without having to set these fields as mandatory across all tasks. This would provide more control over the fields used for Cadence tasks without affecting manually created tasks.
  2. Option to Use the Regular Task Creation Window:

    • Provide the ability to open the full task creation window (as used for manual tasks) when creating tasks within a cadence. This window would show all fields, including mandatory fields, default fields, and custom fields, ensuring task creation is consistent with other task workflows.

Use Case and Benefits:

  1. Flexibility: Ensure cadence tasks include relevant data without globally mandating fields for manual tasks.
  2. Consistency: The option to use the full task creation window ensures that all tasks—whether manual or cadence-based—follow the same structure and field logic.
  3. Improved Data Management: Allows for more detailed and relevant information entry for Cadence tasks, aligned with business processes.
  4. Operational Efficiency: Reduces the need to maintain separate field configurations for manual and cadence tasks, while keeping both workflows aligned.

These improvements will allow us to better tailor the task creation experience within Cadences and streamline our task management processes.

Thank you for your consideration, and please feel free to reach out if any further clarification is needed.

Best regards,
Ram
