I must have missed the memo or something, but as an admin, I didn't know there was going to be a facelift to Zoho CRM. Anyway, I actually like it! aside from wanting to know in advance of these types of changes, a user reported funky behavior. When adding a product to a quote/sales order item details, the line item search bar seems to do an instant search when typing the product code. What happens is that my user will begin typing a product code, lets say "63b" but the full product code is longer. She naturally pauses for 1 sec and continues typing the full length of the product with accuracy. let's say its "63b-123456"
The problem is: Even though the product is a match, the search result will say no results and ask the user to add a new product (we know this product is in the database). When the user tries to add the new product, the user is told the product already exists.
Temporary solution: I asked the user to instead cut the part number from their search while adding product details and paste it again in the search. Since there is no natural pause when typing, the auto search works on the whole product code at once and it provides results so she can click and add the existing product to the quote/sales order.
Could Zoho look at this? it didn't work like this before, perhaps there was no auto search, so it only searched for the whole product code once it was typed and we clicked search? the auto search seems to have some issues when the results are changing as we type.
Another reason why we may pause when typing is because the beginning of a part number may yield too many results, the user will continue typing to narrow down results, but at this point, the current search breaks and will only work if you cut your now completed part number and paste it again.
