Auto number Field Behavior
Hi,
I've been using auto number fields in some modules and always struggle with some limitation, so I would like to check if someone can confirm this.
Imagine I have an auto number setup with a prefix containing the year in double digits {YY} and the initial numbering is setup as "00000". So the first record would have the number "2400000", the following one "2400001" and so on.
My question is: when the year changes, for example to 2025, will the first record of 2025 be "2500002" (adding one to the previous record number) or will the count start over to "2500000"? Has anyone tried this?
BTW, not quite sure that setting the initial number to "00000" will guarantee that all the numbers automatically generated will always have 5 digits. Can anyone confirm? I could find no documentation for this.
