We are trying to add a Lead record but keep getting the following error:
"Duplicate values are not allowed. An existing lead with the same Email has been found."
That's not usually a problem. We just merge the two records, if they are the same person, and everything is good. However, we can't find a record in any of the CRM modules that uses that email address. We have run multiple searches. In fact, I loaded the raw data from a recent backup into MySQL and ran a query to search for the email address in all modules. I got nothing. The email address in not, in fact, in use in our instance of Zoho CRM.
My next thought was to check the trash with the Super User account. Maybe the offending record is in there? No luck. The recycle bin had been emptied an nothing was in it.
Next, we noticed there is a link by the error that says "View Lead". I clicked that and it took me to a mostly blank page that says,
"Sorry, you cannot access the Lead. The
Lead you are trying to access has been converted already. Additionally,
the records (Company/Contact/Deal) created during conversion were also
deleted and are inaccessible."
Now we are stuck. We have a Lead who is finally buying a product. But we can't get the client into our system because at some time in the past, who knows when, someone entered the client but then deleted the record. Plus, the recycle bin has been emptied since then and there's no record to recover.
What do we do to get this client into our system? We have to have this client in the CRM because we track much more than sales.
