Hello everybody,
Today's post is all about the revamped Admin Panel—a major update to help you organize your company's structure in Cliq.
In this revamp, we have kept the existing features of the old admin panel (just aligned them a bit different now), and brought in some cool features. Let's take a look at them.
Bring in your company's structure into Cliq
All your employees will have specific roles at workplace. Be it the department they belong to, their designation in that department or the various teams they work in, it is
important that they are easily discoverable for a quick chat or group collaboration.
In the revamped admin panel, the above attributes i.e. department, teams, and designation can be configured for all your users and is searchable by everyone in your company.
Users are the prime of your Cliq organization. Under
Users
menu, you can invite new employees to join your org and deactivate employees who are not in your company.
Once you add users in your org,
they must be assigned under the relevant Department.
A department is basically the divisions in your company, i.e. Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, ... In order to assign users, you must first create departments under the
Departments
menu. By default, a department will exist with your org name.
After creating departments and allocating employees under it, next in line is teams. A team is the project the user is working on. Employees can work on multiple projects in parallel and
hence can belong to multiple teams.
Under
Teams
menu, create new teams and assign the respective users to that team.
Team channels are created based on these teams, ensuring best collaboration within the team members.
Example:
A global marketing manager can be part of the Europe Marketing and US Marketing teams and work closely with users of both the teams.
Now your employees are in the organization, classified under their respective department and belonging to various teams. Last in line to
complete their profile is designation.
Each employee will be having a designation for them like Marketing Strategist, Android Developer, QA Technical Engineer and so on...
Bring in those designations into Cliq by creating them under
Designations
menu.
Secure your organization using Policies
Security Policies:
This is where you define how secure your employees can access Cliq. To configure security go to
Zoho Directory -> Security Policies.
With the wide array of departments and roles in your organization, you can
even custom set your security policies
for groups of employees.
Organization Policies:
The good old organization policies exist, 5 in number now. These policies define and set the rules for interaction with external users, and also how your employees can discover and join Cliq.
Under
Permissions -> Policies
just enable/disable a policy to configure it for your organization.
A few previous features from the old admin panel like user's account activity and Active Dircetory can be found under Zoho Directory.
Define roles and set permissions
Roles:
All employees will not get access to all resources.
Say a designer will get access to the best design software whereas employees in other roles might not have the same permission or need.
You can now apply the same role settings in Cliq as well, centered around access to Cliq resources.
Example:
The employees in Business Development team will have to meet and talk with various people outside your organization, and hence you can create a separate role for them and enable External Channel's features for their role. After doing this, click on other roles and disable External Channels access for them, thus limiting access to External Channels only to a set group of employees.
Tailor Cliq to suit your organization
Modules:
Modules are the
core features of Cliq that you can turn on and off depending on your business needs.
The modules once disabled, will be removed entirely from Cliq for all your users.
Example:
A financial company wants to restrict their employees from connecting external apps with Cliq to maintain security and privacy. The company's admin can disable the Integrations module, thereby effectively controlling external apps installation and functioning in Cliq.
Themes:
Here you can define a common color theme for all your employees. Pick the color that best suits your brand and customize Cliq your way.
On setting a common theme, the Themes menu will disappear from under Settings for all your employees.
Brand Assets:
Reflect your brand name in left sidebar in place of 'Cliq' and set your company logo as the browser favicon.
Custom Domain:
Last but not least,
configure your own domain to access Cliq
and obtain SSL certification from us at no cost to you!
And this brings us to the end of this post. Do make use of the above new features and configurations, and let us know if you like them. We are constantly working on enhancing our additions and so your valuable suggestions and requests are always welcome.
