You know when a new WordPress blog is published, your subscribers will be notified via email with a link to that blog? Jetpack does it but I'm hoping to get away from it or any other specialized WordPress plugin (like MailPoet), and instead, use a dedicated Zoho Campaigns mailing list.

I assumed the only way to integrate it would be through Zoho Flow. I see all both parts listed there (WP and Campaigns), there is a way to fetch the blog's title and excerpt, and there is a way to send a campaign in Flow, but I can't figure out how to pass the title and excerpt to Campaigns... Can it be done? I tried searching for YouTube videos on this very step, no luck. Can someone give a tip, please?

Alternatively, is there another way to send those emails automatically using Zoho One tools? Thank you!

Hello Ed,

Thank you for your post.

We understand your requirement to send email notifications to your contacts with blog title and link when a blog is published in Wordpress site. Kindly use our RSS campaign feature listed under Advanced campaigns to achieve your requirement.

To create RSS campaign kindly go to Campaigns --> Email Campaigns --> Advanced Campaigns --> RSS --> Create New and configure it with needed merge tags like Blogs's Title, Blogs's Link, Post's Title, Post's Link, etc.

While creating RSS campaign you can configure to send emails based on days, weeks or months as per your requirement.

Whenever a blog has been posted emails will be sent automatically to your contacts based on your configuration. Kindly refer below help link for more details.

We also have Wordpress plugin for Zoho Campaigns which will help you embed our signup forms in your wordpress website and get the contacts added in Zoho Campaigns associated mailing list. Kindly refer below help link for more details.

If your requirement is different from above mentioned or if you are unable to achieve your requirement by following above suggestions then kindly drop an email to support[@]zohocampaigns.com by elaborating it so that we can understand it better and assist you accordingly.

Hope this helps. Kindly let us know if any further assistance needed.

Regards,

Thank you! With some effort, it seems to work! I sent the first trial notification just to myself and will see how the next blog will go out to the entire list.

Wordpress does not automatically add featured images as RSS thumbnails ('post image' merge tag was pulling the first image from the content, and it wasn't the featured image), so I had to research and use a code snippet to force it. This is described here: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-post-thumbnail-to-your-wordpress-rss-feeds/

The email I received also had this part after the excerpt: "The post ____ appeared first on Zorz Studios, written by ____." It is displayed as part of the description and I cannot modify or hide it to say, replace it with customized merge tags for the date and author. Is it something I can change through Zoho, or is it how RSS is generated, beyond your control?

Thank you for all your help!
