In an age where businesses heavily depend on technology, protecting sensitive information is more crucial than ever. This is where Desk's standard field encryption play a pivotal role in safeguarding your data.


Zoho Desk now allows businesses to encrypt standard fields in the layout, like customer names, email addresses, and phone numbers using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). This virtual lock ensures confidentiality, prevents unauthorized data access, and aligns with data protection regulations such as GDPR.



Previously, only custom fields could be encrypted, but now users can also encrypt standard fields. Read our knowledge base article to learn more about Field Encryption in Custom fields

Let's look into some use cases where sensitive information can be safeguarded using standard field encryption.


Financial institutions and customer data protection


In the financial sector, where customer information is routinely collected, the challenge lies in preventing data breaches and unauthorized access when storing that data in cloud databases. Encrypting standard fields like account names, addresses, and phone numbers is a practical solution. This encryption enhances data security, ensuring the protection of customer information.
