I was thrilled to see that a new version is available, thinking of the improvements and maybe a few new features. I am trying the new SalesIQ Tracking and have to say, I keep switching to the old version. The experience is tiresome as too many extra clicks are necessary to get where you used to get faster. Here are just a few areas I played with, and this may not be conclusive:
1. Visitors Online / Live View. When looking at an old 4-column overview based on time spent, I could click on a visitor, a dynamic popup window would open with the visitor's details -- all while still seeing the 4 columns in the background, dynamically changing per all visitors' stay. In the new system, once I click on a visitor, I see his/her info on the right, and only visitors from his time frame are displayed on the left. The rest of the visitors are hidden. To see another time frame (List 1, List 2, etc.), you have to constantly click to switch.
2. Visitor History / People. I could have multiple lists displayed at once as columns based on criteria (such as returning or for many custom criteria). I can still create (have to recreate, though) my custom lists but they are not displayed side by side. Instead, I have to click twice every time to switch between them.
Another, rather annoying change, is that Contacts are now separate from Visitors (that is, unidentified people). They used to be all conveniently in one list, now I have to jump back and forth between Contacts and Visitors. Quite a hassle...
If I manually identify a visitor, I now have to provide not only the name and email (as in the past), but also a phone number! Why is it mandatory??? I'm lucky if I know an email but both email and phone number?
Visitors are now displayed by their 6-digit system ID number. They used to be listed by IP address and this was much easier to make use of, especially if you were searching for a known IP address of a visitor. What good is that system ID number, really? Yes, I can find the IP address but again, it requires a click to open their info section. A length of a visit no longer displays in the list, either. I do like seeing the location in the new system, though.
3. Chat. Did not compare extensively yet.
I wonder if there is a list of improvements/new features. Nothing major jumped out to me expect for a visual redesign. Am I missing anything to justify the new inconveniences (to me, at least)? I am staying with the old version and really hope the new one will not be forced on us as the only version, unless it's improved for better accessibility.
I thank you for the efforts the team was willing to put into the new version. Could we not make some things more cumbersome?
