Here's a quick rundown of some handy security features in Writer
Hello there, Writers! =]
At Zoho, we take data privacy very seriously. No scanning. No data-mining. Nothing of that sort. From data encryption to GDPR compliance, here's a quick look at some security features that can be pivotal in keeping your everyday documents stay secure and private.
End-to-end encryption
Writer encrypts your data at rest. In other words, your document data will be encrypted in such a way that it cannot be decrypted by unauthorized users without an encryption key.
This helps in keeping your data safe and anonymous, thereby preventing it from getting into the wrong hands.
While data encryption is security at a higher level, password-protecting your documents before sharing or downloading them is also a great way to make sure your data isn't misused by someone else.
Writer's web as well as mobile Apps have an option to export and Email your document as a password protected file.
Additionally, you can set passwords for shareable links as well. This option also lets you add an expiry date to the links you share, making it easy to revoke access after a certain period.
App lock
The App Lock feature on our iPhone and iPad Apps let you restrict others from accessing Writer documents, thereby keeping your confidential documents safe. Writer authenticates the App using your device Passcode or Touch ID/Face ID.
GDPR compliance
The GDPR is a monumental step taken towards protecting the fundamental right to privacy for every EU resident. We’re embracing it with open arms, and are committed to extending the GDPR practices to our users worldwide as well.
