We ran into a strange problem when we were trying to create a Holiday List based on Location.
We have offices in two different geo locations and a few holidays are specific to a location.
When we imported our 2021 Holiday calendar into Zoho People our Holidays would not show up for all employees.
In talking to Support Team we found out that we had old holiday records in our system that were linked to a shift, so new holidays related to Location will not work at all.
I did not find this logical at all. I might need to configure a holiday for say 14th January on a shift basis and another holiday for say 4th July and 25th Dec which might be location specific. But based on how the People system works only 14th Jan will be considered a holiday, while 4th Jul and 25th Dec will be ignored since they are related to location, because in the database there is one holiday entry existing related to shift.
Per Support "As of now this is the default behaviour it works in case if both location and shift based holidays are present then only shift based holidays will take effect "
Another issue for which we would like to provide feedback is around the Importing of Holidays.
When we imported a holiday list, the dates in the CSV file had format dd-mmm-yy. (instead of dd-mmm-yyyy)
For example in the csv we put the date as 14-Jan-21 instead of 14-Jan-2021.
The Zoho system did not give us a warning message and imported the dates with incorrect year as 0021 (instead of 2021). After importing we couldn't see the Holiday List because our filters were never set to year 0021. We wre hoping to see some kind of warning message or a visual of the actual data that might be getting imported before the system actually does the import so that we can review what data is going in.
