Is there really no way to have a Repeating Event with a Room for longer than a few months?

Is there really no way to have a Repeating Event with a Room for longer than a few months?

We have some regular weekly meetings in specific Rooms that are repeated forever into the future. However, if I configure a repeating event with a Room, I am only able to set the end of the repeat as an End Date (not as Never or By Count), and that End Date must be within the next 3 months.

Is there a suggestion on how to work around this limitation? Do we have to edit the Event every week to push the End Date further into the future? That seems to defeat the entire purpose of a repeating event? Is there any other workaround / solution?
