With mail WFs from the CRM, a WF must be created to respond to each case; opened, received, answered etc.?

From Campaign, it seems simplier than from email WFlow CRM wich is much more complicated because need to create for each mail all of case ; receipt, open, reply....
But each update must be sync in CRM
Does it count a sync for each update sent to the CRM?
