Orange emails closing w.e.f May 31, 2017

 Hello!


This is to inform you that Orange Email will shut down from May 31, 2017 due to the changes in their business strategy.This means the email flow to people holding a few specific email addresses will be stopped and any attempt to email these email addresses will bounce back to the sender.

 

The addresses affected by the closure are:

  • Orange.net
  • Orangehome.co.uk
  • Wanadoo.co.uk
  • Freeserve.co.uk
  • Fsbusiness.co.uk
  • Fslife.co.uk
  • Fsmail.net
  • Fsworld.co.uk
  • Fsnet.co.uk

 

What should you do?


This means you have to take a look into your mailing list to filter out the set of subscribers who hold email address with any of the above domains. Contact those subscribers alerting them about the shutdown of orange email and prompt them to give away their alternate email address. Upon receiving their consent to drop emails to their new email address, update the same into your mailing list.  


In worst case of having no response from those subscribers just clear them out of your mailing list for the sake of maintaining your reputation. Holding on to invalid email address means lots of hard bounces on the day of closure.
