There's lots to do in our workplace that we tend to miss out on a few stuffs like attending a webinar, giving a callback, and sometimes even a deadline...
I'm sure everyone experiences this and try to combat it in the best way possible. In this post, I'm going to share my simple smart combat strategy to help you not miss out anymore —
Reminders in Cliq.
Reminders are now available in
web and android app of Cliq
(iOS will soon follow). So let's see Why Cliq Reminders?
Ease of Use
Cliq being the communication app in your organization is where discussions happen. Discussions within your team leads to new requirements, tasks and projects that has to be worked on and completed. So what better place than Cliq to set up reminders for you and your co-workers—a gentle nudge to finish up your commitments on time.
Setting one up, oh it's easy as it sounds. In your web,
click on the Reminder icon
next to Chat History in top right corner, in the text box enter what's to be reminded and seal it with a time and date.
In mobile, under
Main Menu
select Reminders
, click on blue + icon and set it up along with time and date.
You can assign reminders to other users (4 at a time) and also to an entire chat or channel.
And you can create reminders from messages! Yes, on messages to be exact. Go to message actions of a message and select Set Reminder and choose a time.
View Them Anytime
The reminders you create in web will be synced with your android device and vice versa. You can always look them up anytime and schedule your plans. In web, once again click on the Reminder icon to view reminders assigned to you, and also the ones you assigned to others.
In your mobile, under
Main Menu -> Reminders,
you can view it all.
On-Time Reminders by Taz Bot
Once you set up a reminder, it's the work of Taz—internal personal assistant, to keep you updated on it. So when the time is due, Taz will remind you of the reminder you set. You can complete the reminder or snooze it for later. Taz will also notify and remind the assignees that they've been given a Reminder to do something.
As an added bonus, you will also get a morning notification in your android mobile of how many reminders you have for the day including overdue reminders.
Finally, Sleakest Shortcuts
Who doesn't love a good dose of shortcuts to perform all activities. So just type
/remind @user [what's to be reminded] at [time]
in any chat window to create a reminder.
Also there's is
/reminders command
to get the list of your reminders.
You can also create reminder without @user and it will be assigned to you by default.
Well, that was a long read! To sum it up, try creating reminders for little tasks and to-dos, and get in the flow. Then slowly reminders will become an integral part of your work, reminding you at the right time. Try them out and comment below to let us know how reminders help you out.
Also, there's still more to Cliq Reminders like creating it from Quick Plus, reverting a completed reminder, deleting one, and so on... Check them out in our detailed guide here -
