The Police Department of a small University is seeking a database application to assist with the day to day operations of the parking enforcement office. Currently, parking enforcement officers issue parking citations using handheld devices. At the end of each shift, the handheld devices are synced with a PC and the citation data is saved as .xls files. An example of this .xls file is available.
We would like upload those files into a Zoho application that will allow the following:
- Provide a way to track when citations are paid and to print a receipt for the citizen when a payment is submitted.
- Provide a method to apply late fees to citations which aren't paid by the date due. ($10 is added 40 days after the ticket is issued.
An additional $10 is added 70 days after ticket is issued. An additional$10 is added 100 days after ticket is issued. Late fees stop after 100 days.
For example, a $20 ticket will max out at$50 after 100 days.) - Provide letters that can be printed and sent to citizens informing them that their citation is overdue. Once a citation reaches 40, 70 or 100 days late, the system should prompt the user to print and send a letter. Sample letters are available. - Provide a way to track citations which citizens appeal. When in the appeal process, citations do not accrue late fees. The system should provide a way to see what citations are currently in appeal and provide a way to list the outcome of the appeal. - Provide custom reporting capabilities.
