Has Zoho ever considered implementing a way for developers to package up custom functions / workflows / fields, etc. into a plugin or extension that users could deploy extremely easily?
From a UX standpoint, I'm thinking along the lines of Wordpress plugins or Chrome extensions.
There are almost endless use cases, but here's the one that spurred this thought:
In the thread above, users of Inventory who don't bundle composite items prior to sale want Zoho Inventory to "auto bundle" composite items at every sale.
With the right set of workflows, custom functions, and custom fields, this can be done in Zoho Inventory. However, each user has to implement this customization themselves, which is out of reach for many and perceived to be out of reach by many others.
Wouldn't it be way more efficient if a developer could write the code once and users could just download it as a package and plug it into the software? As a Wordpress user, I think of how easy that plugin ecosystem is and how many solutions to problems are just a click away from being solved. It also allows the core application to remain as simple as possible while still making it easy for users to bend the software to their needs.
I know this isn't a quick and simple thing, but it seems like it could be a way to make Zoho a much more user-friendly platform.
