Stacked chart allows you to easily analyze the patterns and trends in your data by comparing the parts of your dataset to the whole. In other words, it plots the contribution of each value to the total, across categories.
Whereas, a 100% Stacked Bar plots the contribution of each category in percentage.
Example:
In our example, we are going to create a 100% stacked bar chart to display the sales contribution of each product category across regions.
Steps to create a 100% Stacked Bar Chart:
In order to create this report, we will be using the sample Sales data.
Let us now see how to create the chart.
1. Open the Sales table and
Click > New Chart View
2. Drag and drop the following columns in the respective shelves.
Y axis Shelf:
Sales
(Select Sum
from the drop down and then select
100% Group
)
Color Shelf:
Product Category
Text Shelf: Sales
3. Generate the chart by clicking ' Click Here to Generate Graph '.
The generated stacked bar chart captures the sales done by each product category across regions. The total value of the sales done by each category is displayed as a text on the corresponding sections of the stacked bar. It also displays the contribution of sales by each category in percentage.
