Hello everyone!
The features in the spotlight this month are Show's writing tools: Spell Check and Find and Replace.
Spell Check
Making grammatical mistakes while drafting content is something we all do from time to time. While content errors are unavoidable, it's possible to ensure they don't show up on the big screen while you're presenting. Show's advanced Spell Check feature saves you from the embarrassment of having misspelt content on your slide decks. It comes with a built-in dictionary that can check your content against 87 different languages. While the spell checker will draw red-dotted lines under suspected mistakes, you can review the entire document at once, or go through errors one by one to fix them. All you have to do is right-click on the underlined word, and select Choose or Ignore from the options provided.
Spell Check in multiple languages
If your slides contain more than one language, you can switch between applicable dictionaries.
Creating your personal dictionary
There may be times when you're preparing technical presentations using terminologies that are not part of the default dictionary. In those cases, you can simply create your own personal dictionary and include these words. This way, when the terms are used, they won't be flagged as errors.
Turning Spell check off and on
By default, the Spell Check option is ON. However, when you know in advance that your slide deck will use extensive jargon not contained in your dictionary, you can choose to turn off the Spell Check feature.
Find & Replace
At times, you might use the same sales deck to pitch multiple clients. Updating the client name or other details individually across the deck can be cumbersome and time consuming. Here's where Show's Find & Replace tool comes in handy. With this tool, you can find a particular word or phrase and replace it across your presentation. You can also use this tool to delete words, change the style/format, or even find special characters.
