I'm not sure how to best ask this, but i'm looking to add some guard-rails into zoho for the end-user. However for guardrails to be effective they can't really add extra steps for the end-user. i.e. every step that's added for the user, is another place to make a mistake, or forget a part of the process. Whereas related objects being on the same screen are less likely to be a problem.
We have 2 needs that I feel are semi-related.
1.) Tasks sometimes take a long amount of time and it would be nice to easily "schedule" in the user's calendar. Task X may require about 30 minutes to perform and a user may want to schedule that time in their calendar to be unavailable. Is there any way to create a calendar event off of a task so that they are "linked"? I realize the user could create a separate calendar event, but if it's linked to the task, it would be easier to get back to that task and then mark that task as complete.
2.) Meetings sometimes get cancelled and sometimes rescheduling them slips through the cracks. It could be useful to have the meeting almost entered as a task waiting to be marked as "completed", that way if the meeting doesn't happen there is some kind of reminder to reschedule the meeting. From the meeting screen a checkbox to indicate "yes the meeting happened" could then also mark the linked task as complete.
