We are pleased to announce that mail merge templates in Zoho CRM as well as the Zoho CRM Plugin for MS Word have been improved for better user experience. The improvements include some long awaited features, which we are excited to let you know about. Read more to find out what they are!
1. Mail Merge Templates extended to custom modules
Earlier, mail merge templates were available only for SFA modules - (Leads, Contacts, Accounts and Deals). Now, you can create mail merge templates for custom modules as well.
For example, assume that Zylker Real Estates wishes to send contract agreements and other legal documents periodically to their builders. In this case, they can create a custom module called Builders and compose/send mail merge documents for this module just as they would for, say, Leads/Contacts module.
Similarly, mail merge templates for custom modules can be created in the Zoho CRM plugin for Microsoft Word.
2. Merge fields of related modules available in the Insert Fields section
While creating a mail merge template, you will find that the merge fields of "related modules" (both default as well as custom
Lookup fields) are now available under the
Insert Fields section. This applies to Zoho CRM Plugin for Microsoft Word as well.
3. Merge fields grouped for better clarity
Earlier, in Zoho CRM, merge fields of a module were listed all as one bunch. Now these merge fields have been organized as groups of fields so that you can easily find what you are looking for.
4. Use merge fields in the Subject line
You can now use merge fields in the Subject line while sending a mail merge template to a contact in Zoho CRM.
