Email marketing is adopted by many industries and it's the most-sought-after channel for engagement. For each organization, there are different teams that send out emails. With multiple team members handling the same email marketing account, there's a need for flexibility and a tailored means to use the product in a way that's convenient for each of them.
Suppose you belong to a five-membered team, comprising of a developer, visual designer, tester, support expert, and yourself, the marketer. While a marketer has to predominantly garner the list information, manage the mailing lists, curate the content, and schedule the campaigns, others in the team may have different purposes to contribute. That is, in the case of the designer in your team, they help you in coming up with visually-good templates. They need access only to the design-related areas in the email marketing product, unlike a marketer like you who needs access to almost every feature of the product. So, the way you use the product is completely different from the way your designer might use.
At times like this, it's important for an email marketing product to allow for different users to use it in a way that's relevant to them. By assigning 'roles' and setting access 'privileges' to your team members, you can make sure that:
- All your account information is safe and prevented from mishandling.
- You use a single email marketing account with multiple permission-based access controls.
- Create specific roles based on the dynamic needs of your team.
With that said, here's the tip for this week:
P.S. Try out the
'Roles and Privileges'
option in Zoho Campaigns. There's a small tutorial on how to create a 'custom role' and assign 'privileges' in the comments section.
