Upcoming Updates - March-April, 2021
Hi all,
We will be rolling out the following feature updates:
- Improving import data in the live application
- Enhancing print and export settings
- Providing file preview support to text files in reports
- Upgrading to v2 of Microsoft Power BI
- Providing Bulk APIs
- Enhancing Attachment and Export as PDF
Improved Import Data in Live app
You might be aware that you can create apps and forms by importing data into the live mode of Creator. We have enhanced it to facilitate more capabilities. You will be able to update the existing records while importing data. You can achieve this by providing the necessary criteria for update. Apart from this, we have also incorporated Smart Suggestions, which is already available in form creation, in live mode, to provide intuitive recommendations while you are importing data.
Note: The lookup field will also function properly.
Print and Export Settings
We will be introducing a few enhancements to print and export settings. In the new export settings, you will be able to provide a file name, select the file format, select the columns to be included in the file, and make the file password-protected.
Similarly, in the new print settings, you will be able to assign the type of view and define preview and print button specifications.
Preview of Text Files
File Preview feature in reports provides you the ability to view a file before downloading it. File upload, image, audio, and video fields have this facility. However, preview was not supported for text files. We are working on providing support. This text preview will include line number, highlighter, and work tags, in addition to the existing header features.
New Version of Microsoft Power BI connector
Zoho Creator connector allows your Creator account to be linked with your Power BI application to pull in the data stored in Zoho Creator and create reports and resourceful insights in Microsoft Power BI Desktop. Microsoft has announced the release of version 2 this month. We will be upgrading our connector to this version.
Bulk APIs
We had upgraded to the v2 APIs recently for a robust authentication process. Following that, we had commenced work on Bulk APIs that will enable you to process records beyond the limit of 200. This will be made available in the coming month.
Attachment and Export as PDF
Users who access the new live mode of Creator will have the new themes applied to the PDFs that are attachments and export files.
