Updates - January, 2020
Hello App Creators,
A very happy new year to all of you! The interactions we had with you last year made Creator's 2019 journey remarkable. And we'll be working hard to make sure Creator gets even better in 2020.
We'd like to welcome you into the new year with some updates:
- Support for reading NFC tags
- Accessing apps as PWA

Support for reading NFC tags
Zoho Creator's native mobile apps can now read data stored in NDEF tags and input them in form fields. Learn more
- NDEF - NFC Data Exchange Format
- This feature is currently available in both Android (user and portal) apps. It'll be available in our iOS apps shortly.
- One NDEF tag can be read per form entry
Below is an asset management scenario that includes reading an NFC tag. Instead of entering asset details manually, the end user simply reads an NFC tag using their Android device:

Accessing apps as PWA
A Progressive Web App (PWA) enables a native app-like experience on a mobile browser. And now your Zoho Creator apps can be accessed as progressive web apps! Learn more
Advantages of accessing an app as a PWA:
- Improved mobile responsiveness
- Access to native features, such as capturing location and using device's camera to capture photos
- Ability to add app to mobile device's home screen
- A quick and platform-independent means of distributing your apps to your users and customers
Note: This feature is enabled by default for new signups.

I have a Lookup field that I have locked, when I unlock it - the user can select the proper Zone but I need it locked, since this may change based on user selection of another field. Example. I don't understand how restrict visibility for reports interacts with the already established role permissions. It seems that the default on restrict visibility has everything checked for all users, but I cannot set up different levels of permission for different individuals. Right now I have three different ways to manage users and their access and it's confusing because everything has not migrated to Creator 5. Don't the role permissions extend to the reports as well?
