Good evening,
We currently have an "Opportunities" module which creates a deal between Tenants in our Contact Module (Contact type is 'Tenant') and our "Properties" & "Units" module. The units are apartments within a property, so they are linked too.
When the status of the opportunity is set to "Current Tenancy", there is a lookup field which links the contact (tenant), another lookup field which links the Property and if they are in an apartment within a property then the unit is linked too. So we have an opportunity linking the Apartment, Property and Tenant...
Opportunity - Tenant > Property > Unit
Property > Unit also linked independently and is obviously permanent
The tenant is also linked to the Property & Unit independently of the Opportunity. This allows us to manipulate the data and view it in different ways.
Property>Tenant
Unit>Tenant
At the moment, we have workflow rules which create and link everything within the Opportunity as it develops, so by the time we set the status to "Current Tenancy" or "Moved Out", everything is linked as above within the Opportunity module.
The issue is that we have to also go into the Property and Unit modules to manually change those links as they are not updated automatically with changes in the opportunity.
Would it be possible that when an the status of the Opportunity is set as above, it automatically updates these links, by either adding the correct contact, or removing the contact:
Property>Tenant
Unit>Tenant
Hopefully this makes sense, I think it's a fairly simple function, it just appears complicated when it's typed out!
Best wishes
Rich
Opportunity View....
Within the Property Module (11 Wellington Circus from above) we can see the Linked Units & Tenants...
Within the Unit module we can see the Property it belongs to and the tenant / opportunity....
