Hello everyone,
We're back with a set of new updates that we've released for Zoho Books. This month, we've focused on new reports and a lot of requested enhancements to make accounting easier for you. Read on to know more.
Introducing New Reports: Daybook, Account Type and Account Transactions Report
Account Type Summary
Classifies and lists all accounts and their values based on the account type. You will be able to view their debit and credit values along with the opening and closing balance of the accounts. You will be able to choose the values you want to show/hide in the report by customizing it.
To do this: Go to Reports > Accountant > Account Type Summary.
Account Type Transactions (India)
Lists all the transactions created under a particular account type. The report provides you with the details of the Amount, Debit/Credit value, Date, Account, Transaction Details and Transaction Type. You can also customize the report to view other columns such as Transaction#, Reference#, Debit/Credit(FCY) and Amount(FCY).
To do this: Go to Reports > Accountant > Account Type Transactions.
Daybook (India)
Provides the details of all transactions created on a particular day. Users will be able to customize reports and generate it for any previous day along with other options to view/hide details in the report.
To do this: Go to Reports > Accountant > Daybook.
Generate GSTR-9A Summary (India)
The GSTR 9A is the annual return to be filed by businesses registered for the composition scheme. Based on your transactions available in Zoho Books for your return filing period, you will be able to generate a GSTR-9A summary. You can also regenerate your return in case you add or edit transactions.
To do this: Go to Reports > Taxes > Annual Return (GSTR 9A) > Generate Return.
Track Costs Associated With your Project
You will now be able to create bills, sales & purchase orders, credit notes, and vendor credits directly from a project. This helps you to track and determine all costs that are associated with a particular project.
To do this: Go to Timetracking > Projects > Select the project > Click New Transaction in the top right corner to create transactions.
SMS Templates for Notifications
Users can now choose between template options for sending transaction details by SMS. The template options available are Brief, Short and Detailed. You will also be able to send SMS thanking customers for the payment received manually in the Payments Received module by clicking Notify via SMS.
To do this: Go to Settings > SMS Notifications > SMS Templates > Click Change Template > Select a template > Click Save.
Insert Multi-line Text Boxes using Field Customization
Multi-line text boxes in Zoho Books allow you to enter up to 36000 characters in your custom field. So when you are sending out documents such as estimates, you can provide additional details about your product or service to your prospects. You will be able to create a maximum of 5 multi-line custom fields for your organization.
To do this: Go to Settings > Preferences > Select any module > Field Customization > + New Custom Field > Select Data Type: Text Box (Multi-line).
Apply Taxes on Shipping Charges (UK)
While creating transactions you will now be able to associate taxes on the Shipping Charges, thereby helping you stay tax compliant in all ways. You'll be able to find the option Apply VAT on Shipping Charge below the Shipping Charges field.
To do this: Create a new transaction > Enter all the details > Enter the Shipping Charges > Click Apply Vat on Shipping Charges > Select the rate of VAT.
Switch Bank Account for Feeds
You will now be able to add an account or switch bank account to fetch bank feeds. You can this while activating feeds for your bank account.
To do this: Go to Banking > Select the bank account for which you've activated feeds > Click Settings > Activate Feeds > Select an account/ Click Add another account.
