She says Meeting; He says Webinar. I Say We Conflate Them.

Why you may ask.

In 20 years of software development, I've probably used every virtual meeting platform known to humankind. In the past 7 months, I've used all of the Big Five platforms.

Each of Zoho Meeting and Webinar has features that I need in a single offering.

1. I need the ability to, globally and selectively, mute or unmute audio.
   
2. I need to globally and selectively show video or hide the video.
   
3. I need to require registration or not optionally.
   
4. I need to charge a fee or not charge a fee optionally.
   
5. I need to optionally have a host record and/or a specific attendee.
   
6. I need to permit people to view recorded session(s) optionally
   
7. I need to report on registrations and actual attendees and participation minutes.
   
8. Etc.
   

Companies like Zoom and Zoho segment this stuff in what appears to be a brilliant monetization effort. I understand that Zoho has similar motivations, and I enthusiastically support being a profitable company!

I cannot do what I need to with any combination of Forms, Meetings, and Webinars.

Competing with Zoom becomes uniquely viable for the company that can conflate the various feature sets into a single, highly configurable product…even to the point of perhaps charging a bit more for a fully integrated offering.
