Hello everyone,
We'd like to convey a significant update we've made in Zoho Campaigns. Henceforth,
we'll be referring to 'subscribers' as 'contacts.'
This change from subscribers to contacts was made, keeping in mind the versatility of people you can add to your mailing lists.
Why did we make this change?
The term 'subscribers' was interpreted by many as people who subscribe to your brand through the different forms put up on your website, blogs, etc. While these are not the only kind of people you can add to your mailing lists, we felt that this meaning was restricted by the term. Hence we've decided to adopt the term
'contacts'
for all the
people you add to your Zoho Campaigns account.
What does 'contacts' mean?
The term 'contacts' is generic, and in a broad sense, include various types of people you may add to your mailing lists—the ones from your form subscriptions, events, webinars, tradeshows, and so on. Considering this at a Zoho level, it's possible to bring in people from multiple products and seamlessly integrate accounts to transfer people's data. In this case, 'contacts' will make more sense and conveys the meaning clearly.
Will this affect your current Zoho Campaigns account?
We'll also like to tell you that this will
not affect the way you're currently using Zoho Campaigns.
The only change you might see is the term we use to refer to the people you add to your account, and apart from that, nothing else will change.
What about Zoho CRM—Zoho Campaigns users?
For
users of Zoho CRM—Zoho Campaigns
, you need not confuse yourselves with the 'contacts' of CRM. As indicated earlier, all of the data you sync from CRM into Campaigns will be referred to as contacts.
We hope you'd be in the support of the this vital change, and continue to use the product in the best way possible.
Thank you!
Best Regards,
Aishwarya Ashok
