....OK so there's a need here to change a primary email address for a member of my team in Zoho.
I follow the instructions here:
https://accounts.zoho.com/u/h#profile/email
In brief, one adds the new address they wish to become the primary and has to send themself a confirmation email to that new address.
However, due to a markup error by zoho whereby the system appends the word 'to' to the front of the link of the email address one wants to update, one can never receive the confirmation email and thereby never be able to change the primary email address.
To add insult to injury the instruction itself does not use correct grammar which tends shed more doubt on Zoho's administrators comprehension of anything.
The instruction should read (using my example):
We will send an email message to
justin.quigley@terrapages.com.au to confirm this email address.
NOT:
We will send you a email
tojustin.quigley@terrapages.com.au for confirm this email address.
Here's the actual screenshot:
This is an error in Zoho's markup and needless to say it annoys the friggin' crap out of me.
And yes I added the necessary permissions for the domain to be allowed eliminating it as source of the problem.
Blind Freddy can see the source of the problem is the word 'to' being appended to the front of the email address.
I don't know why I'm wasting a half hour of my life typing up this problem knowing full well Zoho couldn't care less.
On the other hand it may give consolation to other users facing the same issue to know that the fault is not theirs but Zoho's and that changing a primary email address in Zoho cannot in fact be achieved until such time as Zoho corrects it's markup.
