Backstage gives you the opportunity to supplement your session's spoken content with visuals. Add a presentation that highlights key points to help your audience understand the topic better.
View upcoming/completed sessions
Quickly look at a list of upcoming or completed sessions to help you easily track what's already happened in your event and what's to come. Sessions are broken down into days and will be displayed in an active timeline.

Go to Events in your portal page. When the event day has started, your event will be moved to the Live tab and will be labeled as Running.

Click on the Menu icon for a particular event, then click Event Day. You'll redirected to Event Day tab in the Website Builder.

Click Present Sessions.
- Click the Present Sessions tab. The sessions in your agenda will be displayed in a dynamic timeline on the left.

A Red Marker on the timeline indicates the current time of day.

Upcoming sessions will appear in white.

Running sessions will appear in green.

Delayed sessions will appear in yellow.
- Completed sessions will appear in pink.

Click on any session in the timeline to view session information.
Note:
- Use the dropdowns on the top of the timeline to filter sessions by track or by location
- Sessions without presentations will display with their respective color based on its state and a patterned fill.
- You can view all your sessions in the Sessions tab in the Manage Dashboard in the Event Console.
Give a session presentation
Easily deliver your engaging presentation in a few simple steps.

Switch to the Conduct dashboard using the toggle button in the top-right corner of the Event Console.

Click the Present Sessions tab. The sessions in your agenda will be displayed in a dynamic timeline on the left.

Click the session you want to present in the timeline. Your session details will be displayed on the right.
- Click the Start session button. You will now be navigated to your live event in OnAir and your session will be opened in the Sessions tab.
- Optional: Connect to any device or screen that you've set up in the session's hall to broadcast the ongoing session or show session details when waiting in-between sessions.
- Optional: Change the session stage background and ambience if you have a specific color scheme for all your sessions.
- Click
in the right pane. The Sessions stage background and ambience panel will display.
- Choose an option from the Ambience section.
- Choose an option from the Session stage background section or click the Upload link to pick a background from your local system.
- Click the Reset to default button if you want to return to the original setting.
- Click the Broadcast session button to display session on attendees devices and allow attendees to participate.
- Use tools to deliver your presentation:
- Project your screen and show the session material to your audience if available so that they can follow as you speak.
Note: Ensure that you have already uploaded session material in the Sessions tab inside the Manage Dashboard.
- Center your attendees’ attention on one speaker by pinning them to the screen.
- Use reactions to engage with the attendees.
- Provide access to mic if attendees request it during the session. You can also revoke mic access to disable audio for attendees if necessary.
- Respond to questions asked by your audience. You can use the Reply link next to each posted question to post your reply to others. You can also display questions on the screen, if needed.
Note: You can sort questions by time or upvotes.
- Run polls to collect feedback. View and project results for answered polls.
- Chat with attendees during the session to discuss related topics or clarify their questions. You can also direct messages to attendees when needed.
- Click Exit when you're done; your session's summary and post-session analytics will be generated in the Sessions tab.
Note: You can also click the End Session button on the Present Sessions tab.
Note:
- For multi-day events, each day's sessions can only be started on the respective day.
- To present a session again, click the Restart button for that session in the Conduct Dashboard. This will overwrite the summary and analytics that were previously generated, and replace it with the latest information. This can only be done by session's host.
- To view the session summary, click the View details button in the Sessions tab under the Manage Dashboard.
- You can download a session presentation from the Sessions tab or from the Content Library tab.
Broadcast session to hall display screens
Stream the session as it is happening, so that participants can also view it from display screens in the hall as well as from the session stage. You can do this by sharing your screen and presenting any files or information that you have on your local system. Also, when transitioning between sessions, show only related details about the upcoming session so that the audience will know what's happening next in the agenda and not be distracted by anything else you are doing on your system or device while setting up for the session.
- Join an event and click the Sessions tab.
- Select the relevant day in the dropdown in which your live session is currently running.
- Click the Create broadcast button below the date dropdown. A new window will display, showing the live session or the upcoming session details.

- Click the Start broadcast button next to the Create broadcast button in the Sessions tab. The Start broadcast dialog box will display, including the name of the broadcast window.
- Click the Select window button and select the window name that was shown in the previous step.
Note: Keep in mind that this window will be cast to screens or devices you have set up in your session hall in order to stream your session. This will also ensure that you don't share anything else apart from your session.
If you have any material to supplement your session that you've uploaded in the Sessions tab under Manage Dashboard, the Share material button will display at the bottom. Click the Share material button and select the file or presentation in the Session materials pop-up, then click the Broadcast button to open the selected material in the Sessions tab. Next, click the Broadcast session button at the bottom of the Sessions tab to start broadcasting your session material to the connected display screens in the hall or room.
To close the hall broadcast

- Click the Close broadcast button in the Sessions tab. The Close broadcast dialog box will display.
- Click the Close broadcast button in the dialog box. This will close the broadcast window for the session.
To end the hall broadcast

- Click the End broadcast button in the Sessions tab. The End broadcast dialog box will display.
- Click the End broadcast button in the dialog box. This will end the session broadcast to display screens, as well as the broadcast window.
Chat with session panelists
Chat with other panelists in your event. A panelist can be anyone who takes care of the session, such as a host, co-host, event organizer, staff, or anyone else on the event team. A speaker is also a panelist in a session, and will have access to the panelist chat option.
- Click the Panelist icon [
] in the right pane during an ongoing session in OnAir.
- Click the Chat tab in the resulting panel to start chatting.
Note: You can only chat after the session has begun.
Download a session presentation
If speakers need to make offline changes to the existing slides in their presentation, they can easily them to edit.

Switch to the Manage dashboard using the toggle button in the top-right corner of the Event Console.

Click the Sessions tab and find your session.

Click the Materials link associated with your session. The Materials tab will open.

Hover over the presentation thumbnail and click the Download icon.
Note: You can also download sessions from the Content Library tab in the Manage Dashboard.
