Basic activities in Zoho Connect
Overview
After creating your network, you’re ready to kickstart your Zoho Connect experience. Here’s an overview of the key features to help you make the most of the platform right from the beginning.
Writing a conversation
Tap on the text editor in the Feeds page to create a post.
Using this, you can share your thoughts, keep everyone informed about your ideas, and get valuable feedback from team members.
The Zoho Connect editor comes with an in-built BluePencil extension that helps you write polished content in posts and comments by identifying grammar and punctuation mistakes. It also provides content optimization suggestions.
Post activities
Reactions- You can react to a post by selecting any of the available emojis. This helps nurture an interactive and encouraging work culture.
Comments- Share your thoughts and suggestions under a post as comments.
Mentions
Private mentions
Use @username to tag a specific person in posts, comments, or replies. The mentioned user will receive a notification, helping you get their attention directly.
Wall mentions
Use @all while posting on a group or company (network) wall to notify every member in that space. This is best used for important updates that everyone should be aware of.
This action can only be performed by users allowed by the admin.
To configure this as an admin,
- Open the group/company wall Settings.
- Go to the Permission tab
- Select your preference under "Who can mention?"

Sharing a post
Click the share icon (
) to send the post to a specific person or a group.
Tracking views
Click the eye icon (
) in the bottom-right corner of the post to view the unique views count followed by the overall views count.
Take Notes
Click the Notes icon (
) in the bottom-right corner of the post to take quick notes on the topic. These notes can be found associated with the post, making them easy to find.
Follow others in your company
Follow coworkers to see their posts in your feeds. You'll be notified whenever they post something.
Go to a person's profile and click Follow to stay up to date with their activities within Connect.
Alternatively, hover over the name of the person you'd like to follow. From the pop-up, click Follow.
On following a user, you'll be subscribed to push notifications by default. So, whenever they perform an activity like publishing a post or writing a comment in Connect, you'll receive a notification.
You can turn off these followed user notifications in the Notification Preferences tab.
Joining a Group
Groups are a great way to foster team discussions; they also double-up as a virtual water cooler for teams to bond over shared interests. Groups come with a set of built-in apps that allow ideas and knowledge-sharing.
How to join a public group
Select Groups in the left menu bar.
Click Public Groups from the left extended menu.
Go to Discover Groups to view groups based on categories like recently created, most active, and most popular.
Hover above the group name and select Join.
