Provisioning - Overview
User management is a key function of every business. Tasks like provisioning users to your applications, syncing user accounts, and assigning policies are essential. As an organization grows, it becomes difficult for the organization owner to manage these tasks manually every time a new user joins. Provisioning includes providing permissions to users, assigning apps, changing permissions, assigning users to groups, and more.
What is SCIM?
SCIM stands for System for Cross-domain Identity Management. It is a standard designed to automate the exchange of user identity information between identity providers and third-party applications.
What is SCIM Provisioning?
SCIM provisioning allows you to manage user information efficiently. It allows you to add or remove users across different applications within the organization.
How does Provisioning help your organization?
To automate the manual process of managing users in an organization, Zoho One integrates with third-party applications using SCIM. This helps admins to provision user accounts across multiple applications, thereby reducing errors.
How does Provisioning work in Zoho One?
Zoho One offers a centralized provisioning system to streamline user management across Zoho and third-party applications. It provisions users and manages user accounts for any app that supports SCIM or has an API for user management. From a single portal, you can create, update, and deactivate user accounts without switching multiple applications.
Since all user profiles are stored in Zoho One, managing user access across the applications become seamless. For example, if an employee leaves an organization, they will be automatically deactivated in Zoho One, and the associated user account in all the apps will also be deactivated.
Finally, you can automate the process of creating, updating, and deleting user accounts in multiple applications using SCIM provisioning, making user management more efficient.
