Goals in Zoho PageSense | Measure Conversions and Optimize Experiments

Goals Overview in Zoho PageSense

Measure the actions that define success

In Zoho PageSense, a Goal represents a measurable visitor action that indicates success - such as clicking a button, navigating to a link, spending time on a page, or completing a form submission.

Goals help you evaluate experiments, understand user behavior, and optimize conversions with clarity.

Without goals, your experiments cannot determine a winning variation.

Why Goals Matter

Goals allow you to:

  • Define what counts as a conversion

  • Measure variation performance in A/B tests

  • Track engagement and user intent

  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness

  • Make data-backed optimization decisions

Every experiment in PageSense requires at least one goal to measure impact.

Goals Dashboard Overview

When you open the Goals tab under the Track module, you’ll see a complete overview of all the goals created for your project. This view helps you quickly understand goal performance and manage tracking efficiently.
Here’s what each section shows:
  • Goal Name
Displays the name of each goal, making it easy to identify what action is being tracked.

  • Status
Indicates whether the goal is currently running or inactive.

  • Visitors
Shows the number of visitors who were eligible for the goal during the selected time period.

  • Conversions
Displays how many visitors successfully completed the goal action.

  • Average Conversion Time
Represents the average time taken by visitors to complete the goal after landing on the page.

  • Created Date
Helps you track when the goal was set up, useful for audits and performance comparisons.

  • Sorting and Filters
Allows you to sort goals by name, visitors, conversions, average conversion time, or recently created goals for quicker analysis.

The 4 Types of Goals

1. Element Click Goal

Tracks clicks on specific elements such as buttons, CTAs, banners, or tabs.
Best when the conversion action is interaction-based. (Explore Element Click Now!)

Tracks clicks on hyperlinks that redirect users to another page or destination.
Best for understanding navigation behavior. (Explore Link Click Now!)

3. Time Spent Goal

Tracks visitors who remain on a page for a defined duration.
Best for measuring engagement and content effectiveness. (Explore Time Spent Goal Now!)

4. Custom Event Goal

Tracks advanced interactions such as dynamic actions, or app-like behavior that does not trigger a page reload.
Requires implementation of event tracking code. (Explore Custom Event Goal Now!)

What You Can Analyze

Once launched, Goals provide:

  • Visitors eligible for tracking

  • Total conversions

  • Conversion rate

  • Average time to convert

  • Variation-wise performance

  • Performance trends over time

This helps you clearly identify what is working - and what needs improvement.
