Interviewer Assessments in Zoho Recruit help streamline candidate evaluations with structured scorecards, rating scales, and competency-based criteria. By consolidating feedback from multiple interviewers, they ensure fair, data-driven decisions, improved collaboration and reduced hiring bias.
What are Rating Types?
Selecting the right rating type ensures a structured and consistent evaluation process across all interview sections. By standardizing ratings, recruiters can compare candidates objectively, minimize bias, and simplify decision-making.
Interviewer assessments in Zoho Recruit offer three rating types: Star Rating, Thumb Rating, and Numerical Rating. Each type caters to different evaluation preferences and the chosen rating type applies uniformly across the assessment, maintaining consistency in candidate scoring and feedback.
Star Rating
The Star Rating type allows interviewers to rate candidates on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, with the option to add comments for additional feedback. This system provides a quick and intuitive way to assess different skills and attributes.
This rating type is ideal for evaluating subjective qualities like communication, leadership, and overall impression as it provides a visual and intuitive way to compare candidates at a glance.
Thumb Rating
The Thumb Rating type allows interviewers to give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down based on a candidate’s performance. Comments can be added optionally to support the rating.
This rating type is best for quick, high-level assessments where a simple “meets expectations” or “does not meet expectations” approach is sufficient. Particularly useful for quickly assessing candidates during interviews or initial evaluation rounds.
Numerical Rating
The Numerical Rating type allows interviewers to add a score for each question out of a set maximum value. The Total Score is calculated by adding up all the individual scores and recruiters can set a Qualifying Score as a percentage of the total. This can be specified via the slider or by entering a specific percentage.
Keep in mind that setting a Qualifying Score is optional and can be skipped if you do not require it for an assessment. To do so, set it to 0% using the slider.
Note: The score of each question cannot be more than 10.
During the interview evaluation, interviewers can assign a score for each question and add comments if needed. Keep in mind that the interviewer cannot see the Qualifying Score of an assessment while they submit their review. This information will be displayed only after they submit their review.
After the interview assessment has been reviewed, the assigned scores will be stored in the interview record. If a Qualifying Score was set for the assessment, the candidate will be marked Qualified or Unqualified for the role based on their Total Score.
If you haven't set a Qualifying Score for the assessment, the interviewer will only see the Total Score obtained by the candidate.
This rating type is best for detailed evaluations where precise scoring is needed, such as structured interviews and role-specific assessments. It helps measure technical skills, competencies, and overall performance with greater accuracy.
