Auto clock out
Clock out time is essential to validate the worked hours of employees in timesheet. In Zoho Shifts, admins or managers will be able to approve the time entry only when the clock out time is available. To ensure proper time entry and avoid manual corrections, you can configure the auto clock out setting based on your organization's need.
Auto clock out for scheduled shift
You can configure this setting to ensure all the employees have clocked out time entry in their timesheet based on their shift timings. In case of employees missed to clock out for their scheduled shift, their worked hours are calculated based on the set auto clock time.
Before you start
To configure this setting, you must have admin access or access level permission to configure settings in your Zoho Shifts account.
To set up the auto clock out based on shift end time:
- Navigate to Settings -> Time & Attendance -> Time Clock -> Auto Clock Out.
- Use the toggle beside Automatically clock out employees set minutes after the shift end time to enable or disable scheduled shift auto clock out .
- Enter the grace period in minutes to clock out after shift end time.
- Click the Save button at the bottom
Auto clock out for unscheduled shift
For unscheduled shifts, the auto clock out can be configured based on working hours limit. This ensures all the employees taking unscheduled shifts have clock out time entry even if they miss to clock out. In case of employees missed to clock out for their unscheduled shift, their worked hours will be based on the set auto clock time.

To configure this setting, you must have admin access or access level permission to configure settings in your Zoho Shifts account.
To set up auto clock out for unscheduled shift:
- Navigate to Settings -> Time & Attendance -> Time Clock -> Auto Clock Out.
- Use the toggle beside Automatically clock out employees set minutes after the shift end time to enable or disable unscheduled shift auto clock out.
- Enter the grace period in minutes to clock out after shift end time.
- Click the Save button at the bottom
