Once you sign into Trident, you can customize your workspace and take the onboarding tour to understand its important features.
To customize Trident, click Customize Now on the welcome screen and choose between the following options.

Once you are done with the basic app customization, you can click Take a Tour to understand of all the modules and smart features available in Trident, or click Skip.
Note: You can customize your workspace later on as well by navigating to the Main Menu > Settings > Appearance.To configure the general app settings:
Click the Main Menu icon on the top-left corner of the app.
Select Settings from the menu list.
Go to General to customize the settings.
Here you can choose to:
Auto refresh | Refreshes the app automatically when it is active. |
Launch Trident at system startup | Automatically launches Trident when you log in to your PC. |
Set Trident as the default email app | Makes Trident your system’s default application for handling email. |
File download directory | Allows you to select the location for your downloaded files. |
Auto download images | Automatically downloads images you receive via chats. |
Auto download audio and video files | Automatically downloads audio and video files you receive via chats. |
Set time format | Allows you to set preferred time format—12 hours or 24 hours. |
Note: By default, all downloaded files will be stored in your system's "Downloads" folder. Within this folder, you will find a dedicated subfolder named "Trident", which will house all of the files you save through the app. However, when you enable the "Ask Me Download Location Every Time" option, the download location setting will be disabled. Consequently, each time you initiate a file download in Trident, you will be prompted to specify the desired download location.To configure app appearance settings:
Click the Main Menu icon on the top-left corner of the app.
Select Settings from the menu list.
Go to Appearance to customize the settings.
Here you can set the:
Module icons position | Choose to have the module icons positioned either on the left or at the top of the app. |
Mode | Switch between Light, Dark, and System mode. |
Style | Switch between Native, Colored, and Plain styles. |
Accent color | Choose the accent color of your choice. |
Background | Select or upload a background image. |
Font settings | Adjust the font size. |
To configure the privacy and security settings:
Click the Main Menu icon on the top-left corner of the app.
Select Settings from the menu list.
Go to Privacy and Security.
This provides an additional layer of security by encrypting the content of the local database. To enable encryption:
Toggle the Enable Encryption option on.
In the alert that appears, click Enable.
Note: Enabling database encryption will automatically restart the application.This helps you password-protect Trident and prevent unauthorized access to your data.
To enable App Lock:
Toggle the Enable App Lock option on.
In the create passcode pop up that appears, set a passcode and provide a passcode hint if you prefer.
Click Create Passcode.
To change the app passcode:
Click the Change Passcode button in the App Lock section.
In the pop up that appears, enter the current passcode.
Enter your desired new passcode.
Provide a passcode hint if required.
Click Change Passcode to confirm the changes.
Note: Incase you forget your passcode, click Sign Out in the app lock screen. After signing out, log back into Trident using your Zoho Mail ID and password. The App Lock feature will be disabled and you can create a new app passcode.To change the automatic lock duration:
Click the drop-down list next to Lock Duration.
In the drop-down list, choose your preferred duration.
Enter your passcode and click Verify Passcode.
Note: By default the App Lock duration is set after 30 seconds.To manually lock the app:
Click the Main Menu icon in the top-left corner of the app.
Select Lock App.
Note: If App Lock is not enabled in Settings, you will be prompted to set up a passcode to secure the app. Once set, the app will be locked. Toggle the Enable App Lock option off.
In the pop up that appears, enter your password.
Click Verify Passcode.
